Winter Activities

Unlike many vacation spots, we make winter a time for celebration. New fallen snow gives the area a peace that the city will never know.

All through the district, you’ll find well groomed trails for cross-country skiing (available at a few of our resorts as well), snowmobiling and hiking. Remember down hill skiing is within an hours drive.

The Buckhorn District Snowmobile Club has one of the finest trail systems you will ever ride. Snowmobile season uusally starts in December and lasts until mid March.

The club has a dedicated group of volunteers that keep the trails clear and well-groomed.

With over 160 Kms of groomed trails to ride, easy access to all O.F.S.C. trails, and club events to take part in, winter is a season you will truly enjoy. Parking is available at four lots located throughout the system and rides can be easily planned with our comprehensive trail map. The clubhouse is located 1 km east of Buckhorn on Hwy. 36.

Buy where you ride! Please indicate the Buckhorn District Snowmobile Club on your permit application and become a member of a great club with over 500 members!
